How Taibah Kids collects, uses, and protects the information of the families, teachers, and administrators who use the app.

Who this policy covers
Taibah Kids is operated by Fundația Centrul Cultural Islamic – Islamul Azi (مؤسسة المركز الثقافي الإسلامي) (the mosque administration providing this app) for parents, teachers, and administrators involved in its children's education programme. This policy applies to the mobile app and to this website, and is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Romania's implementing law, since the app is offered in Romanian alongside English and Arabic. Information we collect
Only what is needed to run enrolment, attendance, and classroom communication.
Your account
- Name, email address, and optional phone number
- Optional profile photo
- Language and theme preference
- Sign-in method (email/password, or Google Sign-In)
Your children (entered by you)
- Name, date of birth, and gender
- Optional photo and optional phone number
Classroom activity
- Enrolment requests, class enrolments, and transfers
- Attendance records
- Homework, class files, teacher notes, and progress reports linked to your child or class
- Announcements and which ones you've read
Device & notifications
- A push-notification token for your device (so we can deliver alerts)
- Your notification preferences (which alerts you want)
Why we process this data
Every use has a lawful basis under GDPR Article 6.
Performing our service (contract)
Creating your account, enrolling your children, running attendance, homework, notes, progress reports, and announcements — the core service you signed up for.
Legitimate interest
Keeping accurate attendance and enrolment records for the mosque's education programme, and sending service-related notifications (e.g. enrolment decisions, new homework).
Consent
Push notifications require your device's notification permission, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings or in-app notification preferences.
Children's privacy
Taibah Kids is directed at adults — parents and guardians who manage their children's enrolment — not at children directly. Children do not create their own accounts, sign in, or provide data themselves; every piece of information about a child is entered and controlled by their parent or guardian, who can view, edit, or delete it at any time from the app. Teachers and administrators only see the children's data relevant to the classes they teach or manage.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. Within the app, staff only see what their role requires: a class's teacher sees their own students' attendance, homework, and notes; an administrator sees enrolment and directory information needed to run the programme. Beyond the mosque's own staff, we use the following infrastructure providers to run the app, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:
Supabase
Database, authentication, and backend hosting for all account and classroom data.
Google Firebase
File storage (photos, homework attachments, class files) and push notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
Google Sign-In
Optional sign-in method, only used if you choose it instead of email/password.
These providers may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, they do so under their own data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses, which require them to protect your data to a standard equivalent to the GDPR.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account and your children's data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account tab in the app — deletion has a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel it, after which it is permanently and irreversibly erased. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and your children
- Correct inaccurate data (directly in the app, for most fields)
- Erase your data, at any time, from the app itself
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent (e.g. disable push notifications) at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in Romania, the Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP), or your own country's equivalent authority if you are elsewhere in the EU

Security
Data is protected by authenticated access and row-level security policies that restrict every account to only the data its role is permitted to see, encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) for all traffic between the app and our servers, and administrative actions (like account or role management) restricted to authorised staff.
Cookies & tracking
The Taibah Kids app does not use advertising or analytics trackers. This website uses no cookies and loads no third-party trackers.

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes affecting how your data is used will be announced in the app.
